Over the last decade, we have established a civil court department and deal with divorce, family, employment, as well as general contractual disputes.
If you’re looking for a traineeship where you’ll gain on-your-feet court experience, working alongside some of the finest legal minds in Scotland, then Beltrami & Co could be the firm for you. The firm offers a supportive training environment and all trainees will be encouraged towards appearing in court at the earliest possible stages in order to gain hands-on experience in summary court procedure. Our offices are in Glasgow city centre, but as your traineeship progresses you will be required to travel throughout Scotland. It is therefore preferable that all trainees have a full UK driving licence and their own transport.
We will be recruiting 3-4 trainees, with start dates throughout 2025 into spring 2026. The requirements are as follows:-
- LLB & DLP (includes those due to be awarded their Diploma in summer 2025).
- Applicants must have an interest in criminal court work, supported by their electives and/or dissertation topic.
- Applicants must have good attention to detail; an aptitude for legal research; the necessary drive required to work both as part of a fast-paced team and on your own initiative; the stamina needed for undertaking court work; an excellent memory; and the intellect required to gather, analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. Applicants must also be balanced, efficient, decisive and prudent.
- The application must contain details of LLB classification, dissertation title and a note of any chosen electives throughout LLB and Diploma. It must also specify any legal work experience, together with non-legal work experience and any relevant extra-curricular activities.
